Anna Marchi

I am 42 years old. I originally come from Sweden, but I have been living in Germany since 2013. My passion for dogs and animals has been with me my entire life, and I have been active in dog sports for over 30 years – 10 years in showing and 20 years in IGP.

Simple Beginnings

My journey in the dog world began when I was a child. At the age of 10, I got my first dog, a pug named Kocki. Together, we participated in dog shows, and it was there I discovered my talent for handling dogs. This talent eventually led me to a professional career as a junior handler, and I started earning my first money by showing other people’s dogs when I was just 12 years old. Dog shows quickly became a big part of my life, and I loved being at events every weekend, especially during my teenage years.

My family, particularly my parents Marisa and Kent, had a passion for Rottweilers. In 1989, we got our first Rottweiler, Sigge, a dog with a strong personality known for scaring off anyone who dared approach our home. Sigge sparked my interest in the breed, and I started showing our own Rottweilers. Other breeders quickly noticed my talent as a handler, and soon I was in demand to showcase other people’s dogs at shows.

At the age of 20, however, my focus began to shift. I became more interested in dog training, particularly in areas like tracking and obedience. I started helping my mom run courses for our puppy buyers and quickly realized that this was the path I wanted to pursue.

Our first Rottweiler was not the last. In the 1990s, we began breeding with our first breeding female, Jancy von Fridegaard, and established a successful Rottweiler breeding program. My first IPO dog was Winchester, a Rottweiler who wasn’t quite suited for the sport. I gave him to my dad and got a new puppy, Herta. Herta was a real challenge – a spirited dog that wasn’t easy to train, but with hard work and patience, we eventually reached IG III with good results.

When Herta was around 8 years old and began experiencing arthritis and back problems, I decided to retire her. She had also developed spondylosis in her spine due to an old injury.

After Herta came Zack vom Further Moor, my soulmate and best friend. Together, we’ve had an incredible career. We’ve won several titles, including Landesmeister, We are German Champions, and we’ve participated in the World Championship twice, once at the FMBB WC and once at the FCI WC. We also took the bronze medal in the CACIT Golden League 2024. My journey with Zack has been filled with successes and lessons, and he has been a tremendous source of joy and inspiration.

In addition to my private dog training, I run a successful IGP Online Academy, where I share my experience in training videos and a lot of theory. With over 800 videos on IGP sport dog training, I’ve had the privilege of coaching dog trainers for more than 10 years, leading to fantastic results, including participation in World Championships and other major competitions. Helping others achieve their goals with their dogs is something I am truly passionate about.

Currently, I am working on building the fourth IGP school, together with my current partner ] boyfriend Knut Fuchs. I am also a certified canine physiotherapist, having completed my education in Sweden while working at a clinic where my boss was a canine osteopath. After moving to Germany, I continued as a canine physiotherapist for a few years, but due to a herniated disc in my neck, I chose to end that career. Nowadays, I only care for my own and Knut’s dogs when needed.

Alongside all of this, I also have a pug named Hailey. A life without a pug would never be complete for me. Since Zack is getting older, I am currently training two Malinois, which I hope to compete with when Zack retires.
